Affiliate links and sponsored content

• Some links on Poor Hungry may be affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
• Affiliate links never appear on our food help page or our SNAP page.
• Commissions never change which items we recommend or how we rank prices.
• Affiliate links are marked "affiliate link" next to the link.
• Sponsored content is always labeled "Sponsored", and never appears on our food help page or our SNAP page.
• We never hold or pass along donated money.

How we check prices

Every price we publish records:

1. Store: name and location, or online.
2. Date checked: shown on the page. Prices go stale after 30 days and are marked or removed.
3. Household size the example assumes: 1 person, and 4 people.
4. Servings the item or recipe makes, so the cost per serving is shown.

• We note whether a price is a shelf, sale or club-card price.
• We keep photos of shelf tags or receipts as evidence, with no personal details visible.
• Tax and delivery are not included unless stated.
• Spot a mistake? Email us. We fix it and note the date.
• No estimated prices shown as fact. If we haven't checked it, we don't publish it.
